Lush Bucket Café

[Lush Bucket Cafe]

On busy Harris Street, Ultimo, it's easy to miss this place. The signs have an almost 'industrial' look to me, but they actually show the way to a lovely friendly little café. I reckon it's the best in the Ultimo-Haymarket area. I can thoroughly recommend their coffee (Campos) and fruit salad with yoghurt and rhubarb compote.

The fruit salad actually comprises a good variety of fruit, hidden under that delicious yoghurt & rhubarb!

They also make their own muffins - beautiful! ( but they're not ready till between 08:20 and 08:30, but worth the wait to take one back to the office, still warm).

The staff are really friendly, and the artwork on the walls, the whirring ceiling fans, and constant buzz of activity (they do a lot of catering) make it a very enjoyable and comforting experience to eat here.

As is usually a good sign, most of their customers seem to be regulars. The only negative about the Lush Bucket for me is the hardness of the seats. It's BYO cushion if you've got a bony arse and you want to stay for a few chapters of your favourite book.
